The Silver Light

(for Delwyn Lavender)

In simplicity,

You reach out for the nirvana

That is beyond no-thing,

The light that is silver water

To your giving fingers.

The light is silver water:

It gives -

Its skin

A skein of silk

To your milk fingers.

Your smile refracts

A selfless spectrum

Of transformation.

You bend to a higher will,

Sensing the rhythm of light:

You delight in being

A finger pointing at the moon.
